No problem in Azerbaijan's transport and energy system due to bad weather

All flights will depart from the Baku International Airport named after Heydar Aliyev in accordance with the schedule, Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) said on Wednesday. Deteriorated weather conditions in Baku and the snow, which began in the morning, did not affect the flight schedules.

CJSC Azerbaijan Railways reported that all routes within the country are carried out in accordance with the schedule. However, the trains on the direction of Russia do not pass through Dagestan at night, due to the introduction of enhanced security measures by Russia because of the frequent explosions.

The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) reported that the country’s gas distribution system operates in normal mode. PU Azerigas’s staff works to strong schedule. Population and industrial enterprises are supplied with gas in sufficient volume. Azerbaijan has enough resources to ensure normal gas supply. In addition to fuel produced from the fields, SOCAR has a significant gas reserves in the underground gas facilities.

In 2011, the underground gas facilities’ reserves amounted to more than three billion cubic meters, which is a record.

OJSC Bakielektrikshebeke (distribution of electricity in Baku) reported that the company has all opportunities to up power supply to consumers, if necessary. At present, no problem is observed in energy supply. The company’s staff works to strong schedule due to the worsened weather conditions.
