Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Azerbaijan will improve the structure of the commissions on medical and social examination, said the Deputy Minister of Labour Ilgar Rahimov.
"So far, the commission has acted in the zones and each zone consisted of 5.6 districts, where about 5,000 disabled people have been registered. This workload creates certain difficulties in the work of these commissions," said Rahimov.
According to him, the Ministry has appealed to the government for increasing the number of commissions for the medical and social examination to 38 from current 20.
Facilitating the work of the commissions will lead to an improvement in the preparation of peer reviews for the disabled, the deputy minister said.
"The ministry has also requested the government to tighten the criteria for determining disability, which would provide more accurate and compelling reasons for the disability group.
These criteria are tightened to reduce the requests for the disability group," said Rahimov.
