18 February 2011 [12:06] - TODAY.AZ
A 65,000-seats stadium will be built in the so-called Boyuk Shor area in Baku, Azerbaijani Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov said.

"A draft project has already been developed and the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA) will soon realize the project. The stadium to be built in the so-called Boyuk Shor area will have 65,000 seats. The initial draft project was similar to a draft project of the Paris stadium Stade de France. The draft project was estimated at 300 million manat.” he said. “However, the new project may cost less. But, we want the stadium to have seats not less than 60-65,000.”

Elevators and a special system of placing seats are expected to be installed during the construction of the stadium

"This means that a treadmill will be set up at the stadium, but when the number of fans will be great it will be replaced with extra seats,” Rahimov said.
