Azerbaijan prepares new lists of names

The Commission on Terminology of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences is preparing a new list of names, Deputy Head of the Commission Sayali Sadigova told Trend.

She said that at present, over 180,000 names, submitted by the Ministry of Justice, are examined by the Commission. Some names will not be included in the new register, Sadigova said.

She said that the updated list is planned to be prepared and submitted to the Ministry of Justice by late February.

The discussed mechanism of "traffic light", proposed by the Institute of Information Technologies of the academy, was not adopted, Sadigova said.

Last year, the Institute of Information Technologies proposed to divide the names into three categories: those corresponding to national, spiritual values, and prohibited ones.
