Polish Embassy to Azerbaijan, Baku Music Academy: joint project underway

Polish Embassy to Azerbaijan and Baku Music Academy after Uzeyir Hajibayli co-organized a project initiated by the Poland`s Adam Mickiewicz Institute and Academy`s rector Farhad Badalbayli. About 25 students of the Baku Music Academy attended in the selective round in order to participate in “Culture” Orchestra” project.

“The “Culture Orchestra”, established in the European Union within the framework of Poland`s chairmanship, a very important initiative, will allow our young performers to perform in the world`s best halls and take lessons from the best musicians”, rector of Baku Music Academy Farhad Badalbayli told a press conference. Polish ambassador to Azerbaijan Mikhail Labenda stressed the project was financed by Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The orchestra to be formed by the musicians of Poland and “Eastern Partnership” countries will consist of 104 persons, according to the orchestra`s director Pavel Kotla. The orchestra`s launch is scheduled for July 1, 2011 and it will be touring all spring in Europe.
