Azerbaijani border guards arrest 70 wanted

The Azerbaijani border guards arrested 70 persons who were declared wanted in February 2011. All the detainees were transferred to the law enforcement authorities, the Azerbaijani State Border Service told Trend on Friday.

The officers prevented 33 cases of illegal crossing of state borders and detained 55 violators last month. Some 38 border violators are Azerbaijani citizens. Two of them are Georgians, one Iranian and one Polish citizen.

13 border violators were detained as a result of the measures against illegal migration, 11 of them are citizens of Bangladesh, two – Moldovan citizens.

In February, the border guards seized about 558 grams of narcotic substances in 11 cases. Also smuggling in the amount of 274,706 manat was revealed in 57 cases.
