Baku University`s tutor elected chairman of COE committee

Latif Huseynov, professor of the Baku State University`s international law department has been elected as chairman of the Council of Europe`s Prevention of Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment Committee against Torture (CPT).

Election of Azerbaijani scholar to this post testifies to development of relations between the Council of Europe and Azerbaijan, deep confidence of the Organization to Azerbaijan.

Macedonian psychiatrist Vladimir Ortakov has been elected the first deputy chairman of the Committee, the international law teacher from Athens Haritini Dipta - the assistant deputy chairman.
