Azerbaijani Parliament ratifies amendments to laws on Prosecutor’s office and activity of operational search actions

Amendments to laws on Prosecutor’s office and activity of operational search actions have been ratified at today’s session of the Parliament.

Speaking a about the draft, Chairman of the parliament’s legal policy and state-building committee Ali Huseynov said that according to the amendments, for the purpose of launching a criminal case on crimes related to corruption or conducting of investigation, prosecutor’s office would carry out operational search actions in the sphere of struggle against corruption. General Prosecutor of Azerbaijan will control the fulfillment of the laws in the mentioned sphere.

According to amendments made to law on activity of operational search actions, only the prosecutor’s office specialized in sphere of struggle against the corruption or investigative organs may realize operational search actions on the crimes related to corruption.

Draft laws were ratified after the discussions.
