First Vice-Speaker: Azerbaijan monitors acts of military legislation

Azerbaijan conducts monitoring to reveal the need for making changes to the acts of military legislation.

The Azerbaijani Parliament, the Ministry of Defense, the administration of the Azerbaijani President, have established a working group on monitoring of acts of military legislation, "First Vice-Speaker, Chairman of the Committee on Security and Defence of the Azerbaijani parliament Ziyafet Askerov told media.

He said that as a result of monitoring a decision will be made which laws, governing the military sphere, must be reviewed and which laws need amending.

Askerov also said that there are discussions between the relevant bodies on the admissibility of draft deferment to those who want to get a master's degree.

At present, bachelors continue their education to get a master's degree at this stage after military service in Azerbaijan.

The law "Foundations of calling up" was adopted in Azerbaijan in 1992.
