Azerbaijan prepares draft law on development of mugam

A draft law on the development of mugam art is prepared in Azerbaijan, chairman of the parliamentary committee on culture Nizami Jafarov said.

Jafarov said the parliament is currently working on the draft law. MP Rafael Huseynov is preparing the document, which is expected to be discussed this year.

The draft law will describe the issues related to the development, protection and patronage of mugam art.

Jafarov said the current law on culture is being elaborated again.
