AIA appoints new supervisory board chairman

Board Chairman of the International Insurance Company Sadikh Mammadov was elected the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Azerbaijani Insurers’ Association (AIA), AIA Executive Director Azer Aliyev said.

Mammadov was elected to the post for one year. Earlier, Aliyev led this position.

The AIA Supervisory Board includes five insurance companies - International Insurance Company, Azersıgorta, Ateshgah, Standard Insurance and AXA MBASK.

The association was founded on December 29, 2006. It consists of 29 members. It aims to assist the development of insurance companies, as well as re-insurance companies operating in Azerbaijan, the development of their socio-economic, informational and other programs that enhance their knowledge in these areas.

There are 28 insurance and 1 reinsurance companies in Azerbaijan.
