Azerbaijani border guards arrest 124 criminals wanted by police

The Azerbaijani border guards detained 124 people wanted by the police in April, the Azerbaijani State Border Service reported.

The detainees were transferred to the law enforcement agencies.
The border guards prevented 40 violations of the state border and arrested 76 people.

Some 54 are Azerbaijanis, 6 Iranian, 3 Russian, 2 Georgian, 1 Uzbek citizen and 9 stateless persons.

The border guards arrested 54 people when crossing checkpoints, while 3 individuals were detained with other persons’ documents.

The border guards also seized 5.5 kilograms of narcotic substances from trafficking.

Some 25 individuals were detained for violating border regime in 13 cases when putting to sea without permission and required documents.
