FIDE have published the official July 2012 chess rating list of the world strongest chess players, in which Azerbaijani grand master Teymur Rajabov climbed to the fourth spot.
Rajabov gained 4 precious Elo points to overhaul world champion Vishy Anand who lost 11 rating points during his world title defense against Boris Gelfand, and now stands at 5th place.
Magnus Carlsen has maintained his 1st position, gaining 2 points to stand at 2837 Elo thanks to his victory at the Tal Memorial.
Another Azerbaijani chess player Vugar Hashimov is keeping his 17th ranking on the full list at 2737 Elo, while Shahriyar Mammadyarov ranks 23rd place with 2726.
The top 20 juniors list includes Eltaj Safarli (2623, the 9th place) and Vasif Durarbaili (2576, the 18th place). In a team rating, Azerbaijan ranks the 10th place with the 2638 mean value.
