Azeri weightlifters to vie for European medals

Azerbaijani weightlifters will test their strength at the European Junior and Under-23 Championship in Eilat, Israel. Azerbaijani weightlifters will compete in two age categories in the competition from November 29 to December 6.

In the Under-20 event, Azerbaijan will be represented by Firudin Guliyev weighing in at 69 kg, Nijat Rahimov at 77 kg, Kamran Ismayilov at 85 kg and Nailkhan Nabiyev at 94 kg. In the U-23 age category, Azerbaijan`s hopes will be pinned on Rauf Nabiyev in 62 kg and Orkhan Aliguluzade.
Azerbaijani Rizvan Rasulov will be among judges of the competition.

The Championships will be held according to current IWF and EWF Technical Rules. Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will awarded for the first, second and third places respectively in the two lifts and in the total for each of Men`s and Women`s Classes.

The six best teams (men and women) will receive trophies. Each participant will receive the European Championships Diploma.
