Fenerbahce takes advantage of GS defeat, BJK draw

Fenerbahçe earned a crucial 4-1 victory in tonight’s Turkish Super League showdown against Bursaspor, with goals from Emre Belozoglu, Raul Meireles, Dirk Kuyt and Moussa Saw. Bursaspor, fourth before the encounter, took the lead at Fenerbahçe’s Shukru Saracoglu stadium with Stanislav Sestak’s early goal, but failed to hold off their rivals during the second half of the game.

With this win, the Yellow Canaries closed the gap between them and their rivals following Galatasaray’s surprising defeat at a home game against Genclerbirligi on March 8 and Besiktas’s goalless draw with Trabzonspor yesterday. Fenerbahce is now tied for third with second place Besiktas and four points behind the leader Galatasaray.
