Eight Azerbaijani boxers to vie in quarter-final

Azerbaijan are putting up a stunning performance at the European boxing championship in Minsk, Belarus, as eight boxers have made it to the quarter finals.

Elvin Isayev weighting in at the 60 kg secured a win over world amateur champion Bulgarian Detelin Dalakliyev to qualify for the last eight round that will pit him against European silver medalist Dmitry Polyansky from Russia.

In the 49kg division, Salman Alizade will test his strength against Georgian Dato Nanava.
In the 91kg class, Azerbaijan`s hopes are pinned on Olympic bronze winner Teymur Mammadov who will lock horns with Thomas McCarthy from Ireland.
