Azerbaijani grandmaster wins Spain tournament

The 18th international Swiss system Albasete tournament in Spain has wrapped up. Azerbaijani grandmaster Azer Mirzayev ranked 1st among 57 participants with 7 points after 9 rounds.

Mirzayev won five matches and drew in four. Cuban Omar Almeida finished 2nd. He also scored 7 points, but lost to Azer in additional indicators. Another chess player from Aryam Abreu (6.5 points) won the bronze medal.
