Azerbaijani boxers become European champions

Grozny hosted the European box championship among schoolboys. Official of the Azerbaijani Boxing Federation Elnur Mammadli said that the Azerbaijani sportsmen gained 10 medals. Tayfur Aliyev (50kg) and Rovshan Musayev (59kg) became European champions by defeating Russian Ivan Kozlovskiy and Matvey Demin respectively.

Elvin Maharramov (54) won the silver medal while Parviz Giliyev (40kg), Elmeddin Ismayilov (44.5kg), Sarxan Aliyev (46kg), Hasan Abbasov (48kg), Anvar Garayev (56kg), Huseyn Tanriverdiyev (64kg) and Tabriz Hajizade (68kg) won bronze medals. In the team event, Azerbaijan took the third place.
