Baku nominated to host 2020 Summer Olympics

Azerbaijan has nominated Baku to host the 2020 Summer Olympics, Vice President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Azerbaijan Chingiz Huseynzade.

He said Baku’s candidacy was officially nominated to the International Olympics Committee (IOC).

"In the near future, the IOC will officially announce cities that are nominated for hosting 2020 Summer Olympics," Huseynzade said.

Madrid, Rome, Tokyo, Istanbul, as well as Qatar’s capital Doha nominated for hosting 2020 Summer Olympics.
