Baku Open karate tournament starts in Baku

The second Baku Open karate tournament has kicked off in Baku. The tournament brings together 360 fighters from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Georgia, Iran, Chile, Switzerland, Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, U.S and Pakistan.

Azerbaijan`s Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. He highlighted care and attention of head of the National Olympic Committee and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to sports in the country. The Minister wished successes to participants of the tournament.

President of the National Karate Federation Yashar Bashirov praised national leader Heydar Aliyev`s contribution to developing sport in the country.

Bashirov added “this course is today being successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev”.
