Azerbaijani chess player claims European silver

European Chess Championship among youth, teenagers and children have wrapped up in Bulgarian city of Albena.

After nine rounds, Azerbaijani team, who left for Bulgaria with 40 chess players, has won only one medal. This single medal was secured by Abdulla Gadimbayli, who participated in the age category of up to 10 years.

Gadimbayli scored 7.5 points. Greek Evgeniosa Ioannidis, with whom Abdullah drew in the last round, has the same number of points.

But the Greek outclassed Gadimbayli for additional indicators and became a champion.
