Azeri boxers learn their rivals at world championship

First rivals of Azerbaijani boxers have been announced following a draw of the World Boxing Championships here. Vice-President of the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation Suleyman Mikayilov, coaches of Azerbaijani national team Yevgeni Kotov and Nariman Abdullayev took part in a draw ceremony.

The draw began after AIBA executive director Ho Kim provided information about participating countries and athletes. Azeri boxer Salman Alizade weighing in at 48 kg will face with the winner of the bout between Ukrainian Denis Kozaruk-Abdeali Daraa (Morocco).

Other Azerbaijani boxers Elvin Memishzade weighing in at 52 kg will face Indonesian Julio Bria, Rehim Nejefov at 56 kg with Luke Campbell from England, Elvin Isayev at 60 kg with Swede Raduen Kaya.

Azerbaijani super heavyweight boxer Mehemmedresul Mejidov weighing in at +91 kg will face Madian Kassem/Serdar Abdullayev winner. The European bronze medalist Heybetulla Hajeliyev (64 kg) will fight Ali Islam from Egypt, while Emil Ehmedov (69) will face with Danielo Kreati from Italy.
