Azerbaijan joins session of World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue

Azerbaijani delegation participates in the regular session of working group of the World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue started on Wednesday in Strasbourg, France. Azeri delegation includes Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Sevda Mammadaliyeva, head of Section for Cooperation International Organizations of the Ministry Vasif Eyvazzade, permanent representative to the Council of Europe (CoE) Arif Mammadov and second secretary of the representation Agil Gunashov.

Azerbaijan Ministry of Culture and Tourism is defined as coordinating body in the organization of the forum according to decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev on organization of the World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in the Republic of Azerbaijan on May 27, 2011. The session aims at preparation to the next World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue to be held in April, 2013.

The discussions focuses on event`s program, debate documents, the roles and duties of relevant organizations in the process, the establishment of the Global Research Group (Think-Tank) on the Intercultural dialogue, its regulations and other issues.

The event brings together officials of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC), the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the Council of Europe (CoE), The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) and the North-South Centre of the CoE.
