Azerbaijani boxer claims silver at IBA Youth World Boxing Championships

Azerbaijani boxer Ali Abdullayev has claimed silver medal at IBA Youth World Boxing Championships 2024 in Budva, Montenegro, Azernews reports.

In the final, the boxer competing in the 63.5 kilogram weight class defeated Abdulaziz Jurakulov (Uzbekistan).

The match was stopped in the third round by the decision of the judges and the opponent was declared the winner.

As a result, Abdullayev finished the world championship in second place.

With this, the Azerbaijani national team finished the world championship with five medals. Before Ali, Bilalhabashi Nazarov (48 kg) won silver, Mahammadali Gasimzade (60 kilograms), Zidan Humbatov (51 kg) and Aynur Mikayilova (57 kg) won bronze.

The Azerbaijani boxing team has achieved the best number of medals in the history of IBA Youth World Boxing Championships.
