Bush praises BTC opening

"The opening of the BTC pipeline is a remarkable development for Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia [the three countries hosting the pipe] as well as the world market," said the message, read out by US Deputy Secretary of Energy Clay Sell.

"We highly value this project. It will play a great role in international cooperation. The American people believe that the project will be a success," Bush wrote.

According to AssA-Irada, he indicated that the goal of the project is to gain access to global energy resources.
