Girl commits suicide at Baku subway station

A girl, 19, attempted to kill herself by jumping off the platform in front of a train at Baku Neftichiler subway station on Thursday.

The driver activated the emergency brake but failed to stop in time as the girl was too close and train drew her for some meters. The subway employee could take her out of the rail.

She is in intensive care department of the Musa Nagiyev Hospital. Hospital's official told the APA she was in heavy condition with a brain injury.

The identity of the girl and reason of the suicide are not known. Baku Subway Police officers investigate the case and interrogate the witnesses.
