Investigation on death of Economic Development Ministry officer about to finish

Though the preliminary investigation period was over on November 24, the period was prolonged for 2 months, as the investigation was not over. The investigation is expected to be over in January 24.

The prosecutor's office told APA it was proved that the letters found on the site had been written by him.

Shaliyev noted that no one is guilty in his death.

Shaliyev indicted for abuse of power, taking bribe and other heavy crimes and arrested, was taken from detention ward of the National Security Ministry to Health Center of the Justice Ministry Penitentiary Service with diagnose inguinal hernia on August 5 last year. He was operated on August 9. Shaliyev committed a suicide opening the veins of both of his arms. Criminal case was launched on the fact on the article 125 of the Criminal Code (driving to suicide) in Baku Prosecutor's office.
