Heat is expected to reach 40 degrees in some Azerbaijani regions this summer, said Imran Mamedov, director of the Bureau of Hydrological forecasts of the National Department of Hydrometeorology under Azerbaijan's Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources during the press conference.
He said temperatures are 3-4 degrees higher in June, in comparison with May.
"Maximal June temperatures in Baku make 31-32 degress, in Nakhchivan 33-34 degrees. This month is more chilly this year unlike the same period of the last year", said Mamedov.
Mamedov said how weather conditions will start from mid July and last until September in Azerbaijan.
In summer months temperatures will vary between 33-35 degrees, in plain regions 38-39 degrees. Precipitation is mostly expected in mountainous regions than in the plain ones", noted Mamedov.
He said it is not excluded that heat will reach 40 degree in some places of the country.
