Number of juvenile delinquencies grows 30% in Azerbaijan

An expanded operative session on results of the first half of 2008 was held in Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General's office, reports the press service for the Prosecutor General's office.
During the session, the sides widely discussed results of regional sessions, defined problems, affecting the results of work and consideres further tasks regarding resolution of issues for raising efficiency.

The number of grave crimes, committed against a person in the first half of 2008 by 11 facts, as compared to the same period of 2005 and 65 out of 73 deliberate crimes were exposed.

The number of attempts of deliberate murders fell down by 4 facts and 26 out of 27 such cases have been exposed. Through this period, 3 deliberate murders, which remained undisclosed, were revealed in Sumgayit, Narimanov region of Baku and Tovuz.

The number of grave and especially grave crimes rose by 25% in the first half of 2008, as compared to the same period of 2007, non-grave crimes by 9.9%, kidnapping 2.1 times, thefts 41%, fraud 20.1%, brigandage and robbery by 66 and 50% respectively, juvenile delinquencies by 30.3% and human trafficking 76.8%.
