The Tumen court refused to extradite Azerbaijani native, sentenced for drug storing.
Father of the convicted Azerbaijani citizen David Aliyev appealed with a letter to the Cassation collegium of the Tumen oblast court on criminal cases.

Aliyev was sentenced to 13 years of imprisonment in Tumen for illegal storing of big volumes of drugs. Criminal's father petitioned for the transfer of his son to Azerbaijan for serving his term in his native country.

According to the press service for the Tumen court, the petitioner listed several examples from legal practice, when regional courts passed such decisions. In particular, several murderers and swindlers, convicted by regional court, were transferred to their native countries.

The judge collegium decided to keep Aliyev in the Tumen oblast.

He was charged with storing big volumes of drugs. It turned out that the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan does not have such an article. Moreover, he was sentenced to 13 years, while the Azerbaijani Criminal Code envisions the responsibility level for such crimes at not more than 12 years.

Moreover, representatives of Russian Justice considered that Aliyev may buy his freedom in his country.

In the result, the Tumen court on criminal cases dismissed David Aliyev's father's appeal.
