Residents of houses nearby Abu Bekir mosque demand its shutdown

06 September 2008 [09:14] - TODAY.AZ
About 1000 residents of Ulvi Bunyatzadeh Street, where Abu Bekir mosque is located, will appeal to the country leadership asking to close the mosque once and for all.
The residents told APA that the mosque was temporarily closed after the explosion in Abu Bekir and this prevented wahhabis from gathering there.

The residents said gathering of thousands of wahhabis at Ulvi Bunyatzadeh Street for several years worried them and added that it was silent again after the mosque was closed.

"It is calm in our street again. We do not wahhabis to gather here any more. They pollute the street. The mosque should not be opened for the safety of the residents. That’s why a lot of people living in this street will appeal to the country leadership asking to close the mosque once and for all," they said.
