President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan sent a message of congratulations to the newly elected Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia His Eminence Metropolitan Kirill.
The letter runs: "Your Eminence, I am confident that the friendly and kind relations with deep historical roots between the nations of Azerbaijan and Russia will strengthen even more in the period of Your patriarchate.

Your Eminence, I wish You robust health, welfare and success in all Your initiatives.
