Georgian Embassy in Azerbaijan confirms involvement of its citizen to a shooting at Azerbaijan Oil Academy

Georgian Embassy in Baku has received official confirmation of the involvement of a citizen of Georgia to the shooting in the Oil Academy, which resulted in the deaths of 13 students.
The statement was made by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Azerbaijan Nikoloz Natbiladze.

"Official sources have confirmed the information to us", said ambassador.

At the same time, the head of diplomatic mission called the other name of the gunman. According to him, according to preliminary data, it is an ethnic Azerbaijani, resident of the Marneuli region, born in 1980, Farda Gadirov.

Also Natbiladze noted that, according to the embassy, there are no Georgian citizens among the victims.

The tragedy occurred on Thursday morning in the 2nd corps of the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy. According to the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan, 13 people were killed and 11 wounded.

Earlier, Azerbaijani media reported that a fire in the Oil Academy was opened by a student, a citizen of Georgia Nadir Shirhanoglu.
