Georgian Parliament Speaker Davit Bakradze expressed his condolence to the family of late Georgian athlete, Nodar Kumaritashvili, whose participation in the Vancouver Winter Olympics turned out fatal last Saturday.
Bakradze opened the bureau sitting with his statement about the tragedy and the MPs attending the sitting observed a minute silence.
"A tragedy has occurred and I am expressing condolences to the family of Nodar on behalf of my colleagues," Davit Bakradze said.
The lawmakers discussed several issues at the bureau today, most important of which was the set up of an inter-faction group, which will be responsible for monitoring the voter list.
The group will be staffed by the MPs from parliamentary majority and minority, who have to nominate their candidates within a week.
