Armenian FM nervous upon hearing the resolution

26 May 2010 [14:14] - TODAY.AZ
We all know who Edward Nalbandian is. He is the man responsible for Armenia’s foreign affairs. We seem to know him well. Nalbandian likes to listen to the advice of senior fellows, and he uses tricks, and resort to ploys. He eats, drinks, sleeps, breathes and walks. But these facts are inadequate to make him unique as an Armenian diplomat.

Recent statements by the Armenian FM prove that he believes everyone is a fool except for himself.

The European Parliament does not offer the truth in the last instance, but sometimes MEPs do in fact make reasonable decisions. For example, recently the parliament adopted a resolution urging Armenian forces withdraw from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.

Why not? Once the troops of one country occupy the territory of another, the international community should intervene and encourage the aggressor to withdraw. The international organization has long turned a blind eye to the occupation of Azerbaijan’s lands. Nevertheless, the European Parliament has already taken the first step. Armenia may face more stringent measures if its fails to comply.

On his part, Nalbandian accused Europeans of a lack of knowledge of the situation. He said that Speaker Eugene Kirillov has never been in the conflict region and thus cannot know anything about the situation.

Strange. Accordinly, Galileo did not ride on the sun, Tsiolkovsky never flew in space, Mendeleev did not see his table, Einstein could not divide two by two. But we accept as an axiom what these gentlemen and many others had argued. It is not necessary to have seen Armenia’s tanks and soldiers on Azerbaijani territory with one’s own eyes to accuse Armenia of occupation. Similarly, there is no need to stand under an apple tree in order to understand Newton's law.

The European Parliament has passed several resolutions on the so-called “Armenian Genocide.” Nalbandian, how could they do this? After all, MEPs were not in Turkey and did not see what happened in 1915.

Nalbandian should understand that there cannot be two truths. There is only one. If you do not like the Karabakh resolution, then you should also not like the "genocide" resolution. You should instead say the European Parliament is a foolish organization and its decisions are foolish as well.

Nalbandian needs to know that occupation cannot go unnoticed. It bodes nothing good for Armenia and can result in sanctions against the "long-suffering" Armenian people. Finally, Europeans should learn something from Yerevan’s reaction. They must know with what kind of ungrateful partner they are dealing with.
