The WB delegation will stay in Baku till April 14 and hold several meetings with government officials, APA reports.
The representatives of the Bank will discuss the Country Assistance Strategy (2006-2009) with the government of Azerbaijan and be familiarized with the works implemented under the project funded by the WB. Bank's future cooperation with Azerbaijan will also be discussed with the government.
The draft of the Country Assistance Project may be approved at the meeting of the WB Board of Directors to be held in May.
According to the Strategy, WB will lend over $1.2 billion to Azerbaijan. More than half of this amount will be funded by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD, WB Group member). 70% of funds to be granted will be utilized for infrastructure projects, and the remaining part for social development, public management system and other projects.
