Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and U.S. Secretary
of State Antony Blinken will sign a document on strategic partnership between
Armenia and the United States in Washington today, the Armenian Foreign
Ministry reports with enthusiasm.
It is specified that the event will be broadcast live
tonight. But what is behind it?
The Biden administration, which is set to leave office in
less than a week, is doing everything possible to complicate life for Trump as
much as possible after the inauguration, both in domestic and foreign policy.
With only 5-6 days left in power, they are launching "strategic
cooperation," fully aware of how Baku will react to this.
The document that Blinken and Mirzoyan will sign this
evening is currently nothing more than a declaration of intent, especially
considering that the new American administration has not yet outlined its
priorities for our region. Furthermore, there is a forecast from the
"shadow CIA" – Stratfor – which predicts that Trump will be much more
interested in developing relations with Baku than with Yerevan.
If this forecast proves correct, what is the value of
declarative "strategic cooperation"? What are they signing for? Is
this an attempt to provoke Russia and France?
