Volume of BICEX trades decreased by 8% in July

The auctions were attended by 25 banks.

Total volume of USD sales transactions made up AZN 111.442mn or $125.136mn. The deals on EUR tools equaled AZN 37 937.2. The total amount of deals made in July represents an 8.23% or AZN 10mn decrease as against last month.

As APA reports, the total amount of currency swaps carried out in January-July, 2006 constituted AZN 510.25mn in manat equivalent and this figure is a 25.42% rise on the same period in last year.

Last month AZN strengthened by 0.81% against USD- rose to AZN 0.8871/USD from AZN 0.8943/USD. The weighted average exchange rate of AZN against USD equaled AZN 0.8906/USD in July. It was AZN 0.8956/USD in June.

The exchange rate of AZN increased USD by 5.22% during past a year. 5 leading banks actively participating in the auctions were rated.

They are International Bank of Azerbaijan (24.93%), Bank Standard CJSC (24.5), Bank of Baku OJSC (9.1%), Kapital Bank CB (8.4%) and Unibank OJSC (7.25%).
