Azerbaijan's external debt beats $1.8bn

As of July 1, the external debt of Azerbaijan constituted USD 1 806.3 mn and that is to say per capita foreign debt equaled $212.9. As of July, credit agreements of $3 534.1 mn have been concluded.

$403.4 mn of the loans ($150.3 mn from IMF and $253.1mn from WB) received for economic reforms has been expended, the Ministry of Finance told APA.

The loans received for investment projects amounted to $1 402.8 mn of which $623.5 mn was directed to electric energy sector, $127.1 mn to agriculture and melioration, $294.5 mn to road construction and transportation, $39.8 mn to chemical industry, $27.5 mn to oil and gas sector, $36.7 mn to rehabilitation works in territories liberated from Armenian occupation, $136.8 mn to social sphere and $116 mn to other different spheres.

Totally, credit means of $160.4 mn was expended during the first half of the year.
During this period Azerbaijan's external debt service was $63.2 mn ($46.2 mn was used for debts, $17 mn for payment of interests).

$6.5 mn was spent for membership dues ($2.6 mn to international social-political organizations and $3.9 mn to international financial institutions).
$301.1 mn of the debt limit ($600 mn) has been spent.
