Azerbaijan and Iran negotiating on construction of hydroelectric power station

Azerenergy is studying the hydroelectric potential of the Mountain Rivers.

Azerenergy chief engineer Saleh Mammadov told that a decision can be made on construction of hydroelectric plants after the exploration ends.

"We plan to build hydroelectric stations on the tumultuous rivers. Azerbaijan is presently negotiating with Iran on construction of a hydroelectric plant on the River Araz."

He said a delegation headed by Azerbaijan First Deputy Minister Yagub Eyyubov is discussing this issue within his visit to Iran, APA reports.
