BP says Azeri oil production cut due to power outage

BP PLC said oil production at the Azeri fields in the Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian Sea has been partially disrupted by a power outage.

'Production has been cut back over the past couple of days due to power supply interruptions,' said a BP spokeswoman.

Production is expected to be fully restored in the next few days, she added.

Power failure nearly halved the fields' 600,000-barrel per day output, sources estimate. AFX
