24 February 2007 [13:47] - TODAY.AZ
"New membership policy of FATF should be reconsidered. Our decisions in this sphere will be implemented only after 2009," Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering executive secretary Alen Domez stated.

Estimating Azerbaijan's membership prospective, Alen Domez said that FATF at present has got 33 member states, APA reports.

"Only three of them got status of observers-China, South Korea and India. We are working in 175 countries through other institutions. We work with Azerbaijan through MONEYVAL. MONEYVAL is a regional group and works on assessment mechanism as FATF does. It uses the methods and recommendations of FATF. MONEYVAL is monitoring Azerbaijan and we get to be involved in this process indirectly," he said.
