GIOGIE 2007 opens in Tbilisi

6th Georgian International Oil, Gas, Energy and Infrastructure Conference has been launched at the hotel Sheraton Metechi Palace to energy-economic issues.

It has become the traditional annual forum attracting over 250 delegates from 15 countries. The conference is officially supported by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Ministry of Energy of Georgia, Ministry of Economic Development, and Georgian Oil & Gas Corporation (GIOC). Senior level delegations from the USA, Turkey, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan attend GIOGIE.

According to conference schedule, the topics referring 'Trends and potential for oil and gas transportation via Georgia; Cooperation with Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan and Ukraine; International Energy security; Development of domestic oil exploration and production; Investment in related infrastructure: ports, railway, telecommunications, insurance etc.; Rehabilitation of Georgia's Power and Electricity; Sector Banking and Finance,' will be discussed at the conference.
