Second cement producing plant to be built in Azerbaijan

He said that representatives from Lafarge, the largest cement manufacturer, visited Azerbaijan twice and has done market research in Azerbaijan.

He thinks the lead-time will be one year and a half and the construction works will be completed in the first quarter of 2009.

Azerbaijan's annual demand for cement is 2.6mln tonnes, of which 50% were supplied by Garadagh Cement and 600,000 tonnes by Azbetonit, AND, Mineral, Khirdalan, Altay-A and other small local producers.

Established in March 30, 2006 by a presidential decree, the 100% state-owned Azerbaijan Investment Company's authorized capital reached AZN 90mln, APA-Economics reports.
