ANAS intends to especially mark 130th anniversary of Hussein Javid

The most outstanding figure of the Azerbaijani literature, the great poet, playwright, philosopher, Hussein Javid, will be 130 and establishment of Hussein Javid's House Museum will be 30 in 2012. On this occasion, the Presidium of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Science (ANAS) started a petition for relevant government agencies to celebrate Husein Javid's 130th anniversary.

Husein Javid had a unique role in the development of the Azerbaijan literature of XX century. Javid opened a new page in Azerbaijani dramaturgy with verse tragedies and historical dramas.  Javid has created unique examples of the philosophical lyrics of universal problems of Azerbaijan literature. Carrying his body from Siberia, constructing mausoleum in Nakhchivan, erecting his monument is a result of people’s respect for the Azerbaijani intellectuals.
