Scarecrows 'to get police protection'?

Scarecrows may be given police protection in a bid to stop them being stolen and vandalised. Attacks on scarecrows in Crosby-on-Eden, Cumbria, have increased and three were stolen from a charity festival.

‘Next year, I will ask police to patrol the village,’ said organiser Dianne Hampson.
