Azeri MP elected chair of commission of CIS Interparliamentary Assembly

A meeting of the MA CIS was held in St-Petersburg on Thursday, Aydin Jafarov, an Azerbaijani representative to the CIS IA, told Trend.

The participants in the gathering discussed a project in the establishment of the International Institute on monitoring of democratic development at the CIS Secretariat, consolidation of interparliamentary relationships, the legislative provision for social security of people suffered as a result of Chernobyl incident and state program on diabetics.

Next meeting of the Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS will be held in Kishinev in March. The IA is comprised of 10 commissions, which are headed by representatives of CIS IA member-countries.
