The warning came as the regime's suppressive measures failed to contain the uprisings by the people in northwestern Iranian provinces, NCRI informs.
Since the beginning of the week, despite violent crackdown by the State Security Forces (SSF) and the Revolutionary Guard's special anti-riot units, hundreds of thousands of demonstrators, especially young people, in East and West Azerbaijan, Zanjan and Ardabil provinces staged demonstrations, shouting anti-government slogans and destroying many suppressive and government centers.
In Tehran's Friday prayers sermon, the head of regime's Expediency Council Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, voiced grave concern over the demonstrations in recent days.
"Infiltrators have manipulated these incidents. Enemy is not idle; it conspires, and instigates and enters through small windows of opportunities to cause trouble," Said Rafsanjani to the crowd gathered at Tehran's Friday prayers.
In Friday's sermon in the city of Orumieh (northwest of Iran), Gholamreza Hassani, called on the State Security Forces and judiciary to quickly address "the cases of saboteurs and those who disrupted security."
Rahim Qurbani, West Azerbaijan's Governor, and Jamshid Mohammad-Zadeh, Deputy Director for Political and Security Affairs, described the protests as being counterrevolutionary and as "a current that was being guided from outside the borders." They vowed to crush any gathering or protest.
