As APA reports, the Association considers Azerbaijan as a post-Soviet country, which is closely cooperating with the FIEP to become the member of the Association.
Azerbaijan is to undertake some commitments to become FIEP member, but the details of these commitments have not been announced.
"The member states should adjust their relevant bodies to meet demands of the association. These demands are changed and improved depending on time. Azerbaijan’s relevant body (Interior Troops) has presented its action strategy to the FIEP central headquarters," the FIEP said.
The Association also said it will consider the implementation of commitments undertaken by Azerbaijan for FIEP membership by the end of this year. FIEP high level mission is expected to visit Baku in this connection.
FIEP was established in 1994 at the initiative of French Gendarmerie. It has eight members, including Turkish Gendarme Forces.
