Habur border gate, which is located on the trade route between Turkey and Iraq, will be temporarily closed for three days because of Iraqi elections, officials said on Friday.
The gate will be shut down from Saturday night to Monday morning.
Only emergency vehicles and essential crossings will be allowed during this time, officials said.
Habur Border Gate is the most important component of the trade network between the Middle East and Europe over Turkey.
Iraq will hold a parliamentary election on March 7.
